Sustainability
at Mango House Seychelles

In line with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose program which has reduced 49% of carbon emissions since 2008, eco-conscious travellers can be reassured that sustainable practices are integrated into an abundance of practices at the hotel such as refillable glass water bottles, locally sourced produce, and innovative recycling programmes, amongst many others.
Dedication to
Plastic-Free Operations
At Mango House Seychelles, we're proud to say that our food and beverage operations are nearly entirely plastic-free. When you stay with us, you'll enjoy water served in refillable glass bottles and sip from stainless steel or bamboo straws. In your room, our commitment to sustainability continues with handcrafted bath products from a local small business, Belliche. These products are not only organic but also biodegradable and made entirely from plant-based ingredients. Plus, they come in eco-friendly packaging sourced locally. We've replaced plastic dispensers with unique ceramic ones, handmade by Zara Albert from Seychelles clay, showcasing designs inspired by the island's vibrant flora and fauna.

Recycling Excellence
We're taking significant steps to embrace recycling throughout our hotel operations. One of our innovative programs transforms coffee capsules into delightful fragrances, thanks to our partnership with the eco-friendly body and fragrance company, Belliche, based on the island. We collect used coffee capsules and repurpose them for our handcrafted products, reducing waste and adding a pleasant aroma. Beyond coffee, we're conscious of food wastage – lemon peelings from our kitchen are transformed into delicious limoncello. In our rooms, we collect guests' slippers, clean them, and donate them to the local community through a charitable partner. Moreover, all disposable items for our guests are completely compostable and contribute to our lush gardens. We use treated water for irrigation to conserve precious fresh resources, and our on-site osmosis plant converts abundant seawater into fresh water.
Local Sourcing at Its Best
A significant portion of our seafood is sourced from local suppliers who respect harvesting seasons. Our free-range eggs come from the island itself, ensuring freshness and quality. Our bars are stocked with an abundance of local rums and gins, with 90% of these spirits originating from the region, supporting local distilleries and minimizing import footprints. Beyond consumables, we take pride in using beautiful natural materials from Seychelles, including local granite cladding, Nalau wood for structural elements, as well as off-white stucco wall textures on the facade and grano wash for pathways.

Embracing Sustainable Products
In addition to local sourcing, we prioritize the sustainability and fair-trade practices of our suppliers at Mango House Seychelles. For instance, our caviar is sourced from a Madagascan-based company that champions sustainable fishing methods. All our spa products are crafted locally in Seychelles by Belliche, ensuring they are natural, chemical-free, and environmentally friendly. We're committed to promoting eco-friendly practices not just within our hotel but also in our partnerships with suppliers.
